Zoo Field Trip
Roman had a field trip to the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo in the Springs today, and CW took off work so we could all tag along. Roman rode the bus for the first time ever and absolutely loved it. We drove the CRV and followed the kids. We planned on taking him home with us after the field trip was over but he wasn't having it. Roman insisted on riding the bus back with all his classmates. We fed giraffes, had birds land on us, saw peacocks fluff up their feathers, had many encounters with wild chipmunks and did it all on a sunny/snowy day in the mountains. Yes, it snowed on us while we were at the zoo, during the end of April. In all, it was a good first field trip and the girls had a great time too. Harper is at the stage where she has just learned all the animals and the sounds they make so every corner we turned brought out a huge gasp. She was pointing and naming and mimicking sounds. It was hilarious. "ELEPHANT!!!!" "ZEBRA!!!!" GIRAFFE!!!" She had a good day. Willow had a great time with her big bro until the very end of the day. A few tears were shed as Roman boarded his bus and we walked back to the car. It's hard for her to part ways with her bub. She wanted to ride that bus so much. Check out the pics of our first ever school field trip with buses, giraffes, and snow oh my!
